After a year and a half, a slight sense of normalcy appears to be returning to the Atlanta tech startup community as two staple events converge.
Atlanta Startup Battle — the high-energy pitch competition which provides coaching and a final prize of $100,000 — is heading to Venture Atlanta.
Startup Battle finalists will take to the Venture Atlanta stage during the last full day of programming, set for October 21 in Downtown Atlanta.
The top five companies will have a chance to pitch in front of a panel of expert VC judges, including investors from Salesforce Ventures, General Catalyst, and Hyde Park Venture Partners.
Continuing the Battle Legacy
While Atlanta Startup Battle has made a name for itself over the years for bringing a new level of energy to a traditional pitch night, it has also been the launching point for many startup successes over the years. Atlanta-based companies including MarTech platform Eletype, green building startup Cove.tool, lawn care robotics company Greenzie, Codoxo (previously FraudScope), and data platform Cinchapi have come out on top in previous battles.
Other winners have included South Carolina’s Permits.com and Florida-based BurnRate., Arkansas-based Oculogx (now Ox), and North Carolina-based Inirv.
The top 20 semi-finalists will also receive a full day of pitch coaching and mentoring before presenting in front of the Tech Square Labs founders.
For Allen Nance, co-founder and general partner at Tech Square Labs, continuing to bring the Battle to life is about showcasing the momentum of early-stage companies and the energy of the Atlanta technology scene.
While this year’s audience will be capped, we have no doubt that this year’s competition will be strong.
