Join Forces to Give Back With A Purpose | ATL Tech Gives Back

ATL Tech Gives Back

Get out of the office for a day, mix and mingle with your fellow techies and give back to our city at the same time!

Hypepotamus and Community Bucket have joined forces to bring back ATL Tech Gives Back! This quarterly service event is for anyone who works (or aspires to work) in technology or at a startup, and who wants to get together to make this city better.

Join us for Tech Gives Back, Thursday, April 12, and be part of something great. Choose from four different service projects, followed up by a happy hour at The Brass Tap to celebrate your good deeds. Feel free to sign up alone or with friends and co-workers. We’re all one community, after all…

Project partners you’ll be working with:

  • Park Pride: This group has been maintaining and beautifying Atlanta’s numerous parks for decades using an efficient distributed model of neighborhood “Friends of the Park” groups who can take pride in their own community assets. Volunteers will work in one of the parks on trash cleanup, invasives removal, and other intense yet fun tasks.
  • Global Growers: Lend a hand in the gardens and learn about all the crops grown on this impressive site for refugee farmers in Decatur.
  • MedShare: This warehouse collects unused medical supplies headed for the landfills and ships them to hospitals around the world in need. Volunteers help sort, pack and ship thousands of pounds of supplies.
  • Wylde Center: Head out to Sugar Creek Farm in Oakhurst, this mainstay of organic community gardening. We’ll help with activities such as mulching, weeding, planting, and you’ll get to learn a thing or two about growing food!
