Atlanta’s largest spring startup event to feature the state’s leading tech companies
The Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC) is Georgia’s globally recognized technology incubator. Founded in 1980 by the Georgia General Assembly, which funds it each year, ATDC works with entrepreneurs in Georgia to help them create viable technology companies.
ATDC will present more than 70 of the state’s most innovative and market-disrupting technology companies at its annual ATDC Startup Showcase on May 7. The ATDC Startup Showcase is Georgia’s largest annual spring technology event where entrepreneurs, investors, and tech leaders gather to see the most promising startups in ATDC’s Signature and Accelerate portfolios.
Celebrating ATDC’s 40th anniversary
John Avery, a technology veteran and serial entrepreneur, has been ATDC director since 2018. In a statement, Avery said, “This year marks our 40th year since ATDC’s founding and we’re proud of [our] legacy of working with entrepreneurs to help them learn, launch, scale, and succeed in building great technology companies in Georgia.”
Since its founding, ATDC has grown to become one of the longest running and most successful university-affiliated incubators in the United States. Its graduate startup companies have raised $3 billion in investment financing and generated more than $12 billion in revenue in the state of Georgia. In fact, 90 percent of ATDC portfolio companies remain in operation 5 years after graduation.
