Its that time again! Applications are in and the top candidates have been selected to participate in Georgia Southern’s 3rd Annual 3 Day StartupĀ weekend. Having gone through a mini bootcamp where they were introducedĀ to key entrepreneurship principles and learned best practices for maximizing the 3 Day Startup program experience, students’ gears are grinding as the event draws near.
With their best business ideas in tow, here’s how students will spend the three days:
Day 1, Feb 19th: Participants arrive ā with or without startup ideas ā and a facilitator leads the group through dedicated brainstorming, preliminary pitches/feedback, and team selection modules. Some teams work late into the night and others prefer to rest up in preparation for day
Day 2, Feb 20th: Customer discovery (teams exit the building or hit the phones and talk to potential customers), structured mentorship, intermediate pitches and feedback sessions. Day 2 places heavy emphasis on business model generation.
Day 3, Feb 21st: Continued execution (including pitch workshops) leading into final pitches/demos to an esteemed panel of mentors and investors.
Since its inception, 3 Day Startup has hosted more than 100 programs across five continents and has launched scores of startups, collectively raising millions of dollars in funding. Dozens of 3DS startups are accepted into prestigious accelerator and incubator programs. 3DS boasts more than 5,000 alumni across 90 programs.
