Fall Rundown | Can’t Miss Tech Events

School is revving up and so is Atlanta’s calendar for hackathons, conferences, fairs, and so much more. Peruse the list of events we are most excited for and check back to our calendar frequently for all the events going on.

September 4th -7th
Dragon Con in Downtown Atlanta

Are you ready for this? Dragon Con is taking over Downtown Atlanta Labor day weekend. The worlds largest multi-media, pop culture convention focusing on science fiction & fantasy, gaming comics, literature, art, music, and film in the universe. Escape the real world.

September 10th – September 13th
Georgia Tech 3 day startup at Tech Square

For 72 hours, 3 Day Startup is a learning-by-doing business-themed hackathon that teaches entrepreneurial skills to university students in an extreme hands-on environment. Read about last year’s fun, than sign up here before its too late.

September 11th – September 12th
AT&T Hackathon at AT&T Foundry

Mobile App Hackathon is an event produced by the AT&T Developer Program that is designed for attendees (technical & non-technical) to build apps/mobile apps, get fed, compete for prizes across different categories and most importantly: meet new people. Learn about years past and scout for teammates to work on new or current projects. September 16th
Health Connect South at Georgia Aquarium

Health Connect South is the preeminent organization dedicated to gathering the best and the brightest leaders, innovators, and decision makers in Georgia’s health ecosystem. Discussions will focus on the Ebola response and collaborations that took (and are still taking) place to orchestrate this remarkable multi-institutional effort. Innovate together.

September 16th – September 18th
Southern Capital Conference at the Ritz-Carlton Lodge, Reynolds Plantation

This is an annual meeting where limited partners, placement agents, consultants and gatekeepers from across the country come to build and extend relationships with general partners in the Southeastern private equity community. Go.

September 17th – September 18th
Hacker Halted 2015 at Renaissance Atlanta Waverly Hotel

Hacker Halted is a global series of Computer and Information Security conferences presented by EC-Council. The objective of the Hacker Halted conferences is to raise international awareness towards increased education and ethics in IT Security. This year’s Hacker Halted will take a look at the plague that is afflicting our society at all levels; The Cyber Pandemic. Save the World.

September 23rd
One in a Millennial Awards at General Assembly 

Join the TAG Young Professionals as they celebrate the age of millennials establishing their place in the technology and business communities in Georgia. The awards are open for nominations in eight categories, and the top 3 finalists will be chosen by an industry leading panel of judges.

September 25th – September 27th
Hack GT at Georgia Tech

After a very successful first national Hackathon, HACK GT is planning their second 36 hour madness for Sept 25-27th. Go to their website to get the updates as they release more information.

October 2nd – October 4th
48 in 48 at General Assembly

Some of our favorite peeps want to deliver over $1,200,000 of value to Atlanta Nonprofits within the span of 48 hours by building 48 custom WordPress websites… and more. Join in the huge undertaking with a team of dedicated professionals to make it happen.

October 3rd – October 4th
Mini Maker Faire in Downtown Decatur

Back for another round in downtown Decatur, Maker Faire boasts the Greatest Show (and Tell) on Earth—a family-friendly showcase of invention, creativity and resourcefulness, and a celebration of the Maker movement. It’s a place where people show what they are making, and share what they are learning. Tickets are free but they are using Eventbrite for counting

October 5th- October 9th
Super Nova South at Tech Square

October 9th -October 11th
SIEGE Con at Marriott NW Atlanta- Galleria

The Southern Interactive Entertainment and Game Expo is the largest professional game development conference in the Southern United States. Drawing more than 1000 attendees each year, people come from across the United States and Europe to learn, network and party with their peers. Living a gamer’s paradise.

October 15th
ATP Awards Gala at Cobb Galleria

Join ATP for their 12th annual ATP Awards Gala and hear an invigorating keynote given by one of the most influential Atlantans, David Cummings. In the spirit of entrepreneurship, ATP will also be unveiling their new Startup Disruptor Award. Register here.

October 16th – October 17th
Connect JS Conference at Cobb Galleria

All the great stuff from last year- JavaScript, Web, CSS, HTML5, Mobile. With more of all that, and new tracks on PHP and Rails. Tons of great sessions to choose from – whether you build for the web, server, or mobile. Check it out.

October 16th – October 18th
Hack ATL at Emory Goizueta Business School

Join in the third annual HackATL, the largest business hackathon in the southeast. Over 700 students, mentors, and professionals will come together from around the world to create something extraordinary. October 20th – October 21st
Venture ATL at Georgia Aquarium

Venture Atlanta is the premier technology conference in Georgia that connects Georgia’s entrepreneurs with the capital they need to grow their businesses. Come to pitch, network and play.

November 6th
RAISE Forum at Emory University

RAISE is working to keep early-stage companies in the Southeast, funding them locally, and building a strong, collaborative culture in the region. RAISE believes Atlanta can become the next hub for Entrepreneurship. Sign up now to get in on the fun.

November 12th
Small Business and Startup Job Fair at Dahlberg Hall, Georgia State Campus

Businesses and student alike! This fair was created to assist small businesses and startup companies with their recruiting and brand awareness on campus, while connecting them with some diverse, enterprising and creative student and alumni talent. November 13th
TedX Peachtree at Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech

After looking at our sweet pictures from last year, you will be hopping at the chance to join this 2015 event. Recorded TEDTalks and live speakers from Georgia and beyond share ideas to solve macro and micro challenges in a day-long conference. Thinking is Fun.

Early/Mid December
