Humans cannot survive on Netflix alone, so Hype has come up with 11 podcasts covering everything from tech and startups (of course), to conspiracy theories and cybercrime, to keep the mind fed during downtime. And yes, we even threw in a little red meat for all the “Tiger King” fans (including us).
First Up … All Things Tech:
StartUp: This podcast/documentary series examines the harsh realities of starting a business. Recent episodes have included interviews with “The Devil Wears Prada” screenwriter Aline Brosh McKenna and African-American business pioneer Janice Bryant Howroyd. And lest you think this podcast is too serious, StartUp recently premiered a new fictional podcast called “Motherhacker,” which chronicles the journey of a woman who joins an identity theft ring to support her family.
TWiT: This Week in Tech, also known as TWiT, has been one of the tech media world’s mainstays since its 2005 premiere. Every week, host Leo Laporte and a coterie of panelists discuss what’s popping in the tech world. Recent episodes have discussed tracking coronavirus, Instacart’s recent strike, and Zoom’s privacy issues.
Techstuff: Host Jonathan Strickland takes you inside the world of technology to explore not only how these tools and devices work, but how they affect our culture and our everyday lives. Recent episodes have centered around Sony’s PS4 rollout and the history of the laptop computer.
Note to Self: This podcast covers life in an increasingly digital world. Recent episodes have revolved around the use of surveillance technology on schoolchildren and the pitfalls of online DNA tests. Besides the weekly podcast, the Note to Self crew produces interactive projects focusing on topics like digital privacy, information overload, and creative burnout.
Atlanta Startup Podcast: “Why should an Atlanta founder want to work with you?” “Who is one person every Atlanta founder should meet?” “Who is the ideal investor for you, and why?” Those are three of the many questions that ATL founders and investors alike answer every week on the Atlanta Startup Podcast. The Atlanta Story Podcast: This podcast by Atlanta Ventures‘ Jon Birdsong provides a in-depth look at Atlanta’s most dynamic movers and shakers, and a look back at life in the city before coronavirus turned our lives upside down. Guests have included head of Paramount Consulting Group Tharon Johnson, and Chef Ron Hsu of Lazy Betty.

Stuff They Don’t Want You to Know: This podcast takes an irreverent look at conspiracy theories and unexplained phenomena throughout history. Recent episodes have covered topics like coronavirus-related conspiracy theories and the only place on Earth where chemtrails actually existed.
Darknet Diaries: If you’re spending your late nights consuming true crime television, check out this new twist on the genre featuring cybercriminals of all stripes. One recent episode highlighted a hacker that made more than $100,000 in a single day plying his trade.
