Think Global, Start Local: Apply to Claim An Atlanta Metro Export Challenge Grant

Atlanta companies, ready to cross the pond?

The Atlanta Metro Export Challenge, an initiative of the Metro Atlanta Chamber powered by JPMorgan Chase and UPS, is a grant program designed to engage Atlanta companies in the development of international sales plans. The grant program is part of the Atlanta Metro Export Plan, which launched in 2015 to increase the number of metro Atlanta companies that sell internationally and to increase the value of goods and services exported from metro Atlanta.

The grant program provide reimbursement grants of $5,000 for small and medium-sized companies (less than $50 million in annual revenue) for specific expenses related to growing their international business. Companies must never have received the MEP Challenge grant previously, but may be eligible to apply for a second round of competition after a year with the chance to win an additional $5,000, $10,000 or $20,000.

A panel of Atlanta business leaders will evaluate companies based on factors including: current or future exportability of their products or services, realistic one- and three-year exploring plans, and evidence that the grant will make a difference in the company’s ability to sell successfully in other countries.

The grant application is due August 31, and decisions will be made in September.
