ATL Tech Gives Back is returning on Thursday, October 19th!
Atlanta’s entrepreneurial and tech community is already great. But we need your help to turn it into something GOOD.
Do you work (or want to work) for a startup? For an Atlanta tech company? Do you believe in your city and want to make it even better? This quarterly event series, hosted by Community Bucket and Hype and powered by Cox Enterprises, harnesses Atlanta’s passionate technology community for the greater good. Partner with local grassroots nonprofits and make a difference while strengthening the entire startup ecosystem in Atlanta.
Join us for #ATLTechGivesBack 2.0 on Thursday, October 19, 2017 and be part of something great. This time, choose from 3 projects in the afternoon, followed by a happy hour at Monday Night Brewing for all the volunteers to celebrate their good deeds. Sign up alone or bring your friends and co-workers along for the ride… we’re all one community, after all.
Here are the partners you’ll choose from (1pm-4pm):
- Historic Westside Gardens: Through a network of home and community gardens, they help to empower residents of the Westside to grow their own food, improve their health, and create their own economic opportunities through food production. Volunteers will work at the Urban Fresh site to help construct a new fence, clear debris and weeds from the grounds, and tend to the garden boxes.
- Park Pride: This group has been maintaining and beautifying Atlanta’s numerous parks for decades, using an efficient distributed model of neighborhood “Friends of the Park” groups who can take pride in their own community assets. Volunteers will work in one of the parks on trash cleanup, invasives removal, and other intense yet fun tasks!
- MedShare: This Decatur-based organization collects medical supplies otherwise headed to the landfills, and instead diverts them to good use in clinics and hospitals abroad. Volunteers are the main source of labor in their impressive warehouse, where you’ll sort, pack and ship thousands of pounds of supplies in just a few hours.
Tickets are only $15, which includes:
- Reserved spot in a seamlessly-run project with some of the finest organizations in our city
- Snacks and supplies during the service project
- Premium soft event t-shirt (one that you’ll want to wear again)
- Drink ticket for 1 free pint at Monday Night Brewing
