Atlanta-based Zoompf is a web performance company that works by continuously auditing websites for the common causes of slow performance, providing prioritized, easy-to-fix steps for the entire team. (Check out our previous scoop on the company). Looking to replicate the success of recent ATDC graduate, Rigor, Zoompf is following in their footsteps and have been chosen as an ATDC Select company. ATDC has been ranked one of the world’s top technology incubators and named a Top 12 Incubator Changing the World by Forbes. Becoming a Select company is no easy feat and induction into the program is a strong indicator of the staying power of this local startup.
We chatted with Zoompf’s leadership to find out more.
“Rigor has been amazingly successful,” says Zoompf CTO, Billy Hoffman. “Craig Hyde actually introduced us to the ATDC Select board. Once the board understood how Zoompf was a different, complementary web performance company, they jumped on bringing us into the program, in part because they know first hand from working with Rigor how demand for these products cross nearly all verticals.”
“We are truly honored to become the newest members of the ATDC Select program”, says Mark Isham, Zoompf CEO. “ATDC Select graduates have become a ‘who’s who’ of Atlanta startup success stories, and the mentoring and industry presence of the ATDC is truly best of breed. Getting accepted as an ATDC Select company is a great validation of Zoompf’s continued growth and we look forward to actively giving back to the ATDC and Georgia Tech entrepreneurial community.”
Zoomp is bootstrapped and thriving. They have about 30 paying customers right now including Dell, TicketMaster, Oracle, The Economist, and a very large discount retailer you shop at all the time (but we can’t mention). “We’ve recently launched a free performance alerting tool, zoompf alerts and have a major revision of our commercial Web Performance Optimizer planned for this Spring,” says Hoffman.
