Finally there’s someone making dreaded note taking a whole lot easier. GetNotes transcribes audio or video recordings into written notes within 48 hours. These audio recordings can range from your personal conversations to business meetings and conference calls. Users also have the option to receive word-for-word transcriptions, basic editing, or a summary of their recording. Just think of the time saved from making to-do lists or creating meeting minutes.
They have recently been featured in the Atlanta Business Chronicle and were just accepted into the Georgia Tech Flashpoint program. GetNotes is gettin’ it!
We were able to catch up with founder & former journalist Eugene Yukin to learn more about the company:

Athens Angel Fund
Private Individual Investors
Team:
Eugene Yukin: Founder
Andrew Schwartz: Co-founder
Ricky Hunter: Co-founder
Matt Campbell: Co-founder
Location:
The Atlanta Technology Village offered us a great space and has helped in the process of starting and growing a company. The proximity to Twin Peaks doesn’t hurt. (We’re not sure if the pirate gear from the photo above gets them too far with the Twin Peaks ladies, but know we’re rooting for you guys!)
Employees:

Founded:
2012
Funded or bootstrapped:
Bootstrapped for the first year. We have had two rounds of funding from Atlanta Ventures, Athens Angel Investment Fund, and other private investors.
Price of Services:
$1.50/audio minute up through $2.50/audio minute.
What Customers Get:
A flawless transcript or summary of their audio file that’s edited to their desired level. Summaries of meetings and conference calls come with action items and are interactive. Users can press on ‘links’ in the text if they want to go back and listen to a specific point in the original recording.
How’d You Get The Idea For It:
Eugene Yukin worked as a journalist and spent hours transcribing interviews and summarizing his interviews to extract useful information. With no good tools to transcribe interviews and no summary solutions, GetNotes was born as a solution to a very personal, painful problem.
What Collaboration Tools & Processes Do You Use:
Google Drive, Pivotal Tracker, Trello, washable crayons (whiteboards are expensive).
Where do you gain your insights from and how do you stay on top of emerging trends?
We don’t stay on top of trends, we embody them.
What’s Unique About Your Company Culture:
We operate in a no BS environment by recording all of our meetings.
What You Need Most Right Now:
The flexibility of our product provides opportunities for an incredibly large array of use cases. Right now, we need a more diverse customer base so we can explore more use cases than we previously imagined.
