What is TourBuzz?
SaaS platform independent real estate photographers to host real estate virtual tours and run their business.
What’s your traction been like thus far?
Great! We continue to have strong year-over-year growth and are now in our 7th year of business.
What’s a hypothesis that you’ve had that has failed? And how did you respond?
We spent a lot of resources on a line extension product that was geared directly at agents, hoping it would be very self-service. Turns out agents needed a lot of hand-holding with tech products and at the price point we had, it couldn’t work. Relatedly, we thought that listing syndication was going to be a big opportunity but it went through the cycle of invention to consolidation in about 3-4 years and was a much smaller market opportunity than originally anticipated. We ended up strategically abandoning the line extension and focusing on growing our core business.
What’s your favorite startup in Atlanta?
There are so many well-run, innovative companies it’s impossible to name a clear favorite. Let’s just say I’m very proud of Atlanta’s growth in the tech startup scene over the last 10 years!
What’s your favorite thing about being an entrepreneur?
The opportunity to create real value for the world while working with a bunch of really smart, motivated people.
If your company were an animal, what would it be and why?
Cats are always listening; calm until action is required and then efficiently deadly.
