How’d You Get The Idea For It:
I (Richard Werbe) was in an Intro to Economics class at Emory and we were discussing how incentives are needed to make things efficient. I knew that online information was a place that could be improved because I had run another website in high school where people would ask questions and get answers for free–the only problem was people would have no incentive to answer the question. I decided to try to apply a money incentive model to information, online marketplace). Overall we are not trying to compete with Google or Yahoo! Answers. We give people with questions that cannot be answered with a simple Google search a place to get help.
Where do you gain your insights from and how do you stay on top of emerging trends?
It’s important to understand your users and your market. We make sure to foster a powerful friendship system on Createpool so users come back. 94.7% of our revenue is from old users and more than 216 individuals have paid for more than 30 questions or tasks each. It’s also important to build connections with those who have already been successful in the tech industry.
What’s Unique About Your Company Culture:
It’s about the most random group of guys (almost comical) but we’re all connected by the idea of Createpool and the power of online marketplaces. Overall we are very close. We have several pretty funny characters on the team → Arjun Patel.
