These 10 Startups Are Worth Swooning Over This Valentine’s Day

Chocolate shops and florists typically get all the love on Valentine’s Day. But there are many tech-enabled businesses and tech startups that are helping us find love and show our love on February 14th.

Whether you are celebrating Valentine’s, Palentine’s, or Galentine’s Day this year, these are the startups that can help you through the day in style:

Self Care & Self Love

Valentine’s Day doesn’t need to be about celebrating a significant other. If you are looking for some self-care startups, these are the ones you should know about:

  • An upcoming app Roeme is launching in Atlanta to help streamline how people book group fitness and wellness classes. This could help you connect with friends or get a good, fun workout in.

  • Want to get out of the house? Foodies across the Southeast can head over to Offline, a Charlotte-based startup, to discover new fun restaurants in their own backyard each month.

  • Looking to switch up your look? WellCapped, a venture-backed data driven beauty company from Atlanta, makes it easier to have a great hair day with new wigs.

  • Prept is a North Carolina-based startup bringing virtual style consultations to your phone. That can be helpful if you are looking to spruce up your wardrobe during any season.

Landing A Date

If you’re looking to land a date for Valentine’s Day, the Hatched App is here to help. Unlike traditional dating apps, Hatched focuses on matching on personality traits versus photos.

After successfully launching in Atlanta, the startup has expanded across the Southeast.

Planning For “I Do”

February 14th is the most popular day to get engaged. And increasingly, wedding trends include tech-enabled gadgets to make the day more memorable. So if this is the year for you and your partner, there are several Southeast startups that are in the “Wedding Tech” world that can help you prepare for the big day:

  • Poppy is a venture-backed startup that took the Venture Atlanta stage last year. The tech-enabled platform helps those planning a wedding get their dream floral arrangements.

  • The Southeast is also home to many companies innovating the wedding dress shopping experience. There is Borrowing Magnolia, a digital brokerage service for wedding dresses, brokering rentals, and sales between dress owners and brides-to-be. Laine London, also in Atlanta, allows brides to rent their dresses in a reasonable price range.

  • If you want to give your mom’s wedding dress a 21st Century upgrade, you can check out North Carolina-based Unbox The Dress, a unique startup that transforms old dresses into unique treasures

  • Georgia Tech student Bella Johns saw there was something missing in the First Dance planning. So she went through Create-X’s Startup Launch to change that. You can read about her entrepreneurial road here and more about her dance studio and services, Danse L’Amour here.

However you celebrate, we are wishing you a Happy Valentine’s, Palentine’s, or Galentine’s Day!
