ParkMobile Makes It Possible To Pay For Parking Within Google Maps

Atlanta-based and BMW Group-owned ParkMobile has released several mobile-first features over the years to help drivers more easily deal with parking. Their latest integration allows drivers to pay for parking within Google Maps.

“At ParkMobile, we always try to meet the consumers where they are and reduce friction in the process of paying for parking. We know not everyone wants to download a full-featured app and set up an account, especially if they don’t pay for parking that often,” Jeff Perkins, ParkMobile’s CMO and Head of Product, told Hypepotamus.

“That’s why we’ve focused our recent product roadmap on providing different options for people to make a contactless parking payment. We recently launched a lightweight web app that lets a person quickly pay for parking in a mobile web browser.  And now we have this new partnership with Google that lets you jump right from navigation into a parking payment.”

Perkins says this is part of ParkMobile’s goal to “drive as much contactless adoption as possible.”

The integration is available now on Android and will be coming to iOS devices soon.

Upon navigating to the destination, users can tap the ‘pay for parking’ button directly on Google Maps and use Google Pay to complete the payment process.

Time can be extended from within the app as well.

The new integration feature is an expansion of ParkMobile’s work with Google over the past few months, which is now available in over 400 cities.

“We’re excited to work with ParkMobile to help drivers across the U.S. pay for parking more quickly and conveniently right from Google Maps,” explains Vishal Dutta, Product Manager, Google Maps. “Google Pay and Google Maps were able to seamlessly incorporate ParkMobile’s software, which helped us bring this feature to life.”
