WHO: American Transaction Processors Coalition (ATPC) to formally launch with a panel discussion in front of 400 industry employees, chamber of commerce executives, university leadership and elected officials from Congress, the Georgia General Assembly and local governments. The program will include remarks from: Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed; Congressman Tom Price; ATPC Executive Director H. West Richards; and more.

WHY:
- Georgia’s Transaction Alley companies develop products and provide technology services for the world’s finance industry: processed more than $4.4 trillion in American credit card transactions last year; 85 billion of U.S. credit card swipes, debit payments and gift card purchases.
- More than 60 percent of industry companies are based in Atlanta and 70 percent of all U.S. payments processed run through Georgia.
- The global payment processing (merchant acquiring) industry generates $50 billion, with projected growth to $65 billion by 2015. Alternative payment methods like mobile could add another $6 billion by 2015.
