Georgia State University’s Startup Exchange, a student-run think tank that offers classes, workshops, and lectures to help turn student’s ideas into reality, is kicking off this semester on January 27. The 10-wk startup engineering program runs through April 2 and meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6pm-8pm. Classes will be held on campus in the CURVE lab in Library South.
This program is an invaluable resource for students with ideas and young entrepreneurs as it introduces customer discovery, product-market fit, behavioral economics, and pitches and helps build a network of resources to turn ideas into businesses. This program will consist of open discussions and collaboration, complemented with optional homework and readings. We will have two meetings per week: one focused on the theoretical approaches to startups and one focused on hands on activities and workshops.
The classes will be taught by Ricky Hunter (of Pointivo), who has been a profit-generating entrepreneur since he was 13 and Jovonni Pharr (of Nuracode & Sayroom), a software engineer with a focus on emerging technologies & integrations.
