JavaScript 101: Free Class for Tech Newbies

by Klaire Wesolowski

JavaScript is one of the most widely used languages today, and knowing the basics can be a huge skill for any professional or up and coming techie. Don’t know it? Now’s your chance. Join Tech Talent South for a free JavaScript 101 workshop led by Jason Bishop. No experience in JavaScript is necessary; in fact, no experience in any programming language is necessary. All you need is a laptop, Google Chrome, any text editor (hint: Sublime Text is free!), and lots of questions.

About TTS:
Tech Talent South provides beginner-focused programs teaching web development and coding to adults and children throughout the Southeast. Our goal is to bring code education to our region and empower people who are on a mission to do something big. Our graduates range from doctors looking for a new skill set to diplomats to people who are passionate about developing their own apps or joining the startup community. TTS has locations in Atlanta, Athens, Asheville, Charlotte, Raleigh and New Orleans.

About Jason Bishop:
Jason Bishop has worked in Atlanta’s startup community since 2008 and has enjoyed seeing it reach new heights every subsequent year. A Tech graduate and co-founder of Nightsprout, his current technology stack of choice includes Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, and AngularJS. In addition to UI/UX/IxD, he is also interested in the recent trend of moving application logic to thick clients and the even more recent trend of isomorphic JavaScript.

About Collider:
Collider is a tech startup workspace in Midtown Atlanta for entrepreneurs and early stage teams maturing into startups. The location formally known as Hype is now a dedicated startup office space, as well as a co-working and community joint. The iconic and now newly re-imagined spot will offer both drop-in and monthly memberships. If you are looking for a spot to call home for your startup, a joint to host a tech event or meet-up, or a space to just get some work done for the day, hit us up.
