????️ About This Event: Open Source Essentials: Consuming and Contributing

Leveraging and contributing to open-source platforms is a great way to enhance your development process, grow your professional portfolio and learn from industry experts.

Join this cross-platform session to learn how to consume open source in your applications and contribute back to the community. Jenn Skeivik, Senior Manager at Boeing, will cover all the essentials, from open-source license basics to contribution etiquette. She will share tips for catching compliance issues early in the development cycle to maximize speed and minimize risk.

About the speaker:

Jenn Skeivik is the Senior Manager of the Open Source Program Office at Boeing. Jenn has been working in open source for over ten years and has a wealth of experience in software engineering leadership roles across aerospace, defense, and biotech industries. She earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Computer Science and Zoology and holds a Master’s degree in Computational Biosciences from Arizona State University. In her spare time, she volunteers for the DNA Doe Project and hangs out with her husband, five kids, and cat.
