Village Workshop | Understanding IP

May 2, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

Complicated questions can be made easy, even the question of how to identify and begin to protect your intellectual property (IP). Do you know, and do you know how to clearly explain to your team, the four basic ways to identify and protect your IP?

Join corporate counsel and patent attorney Paul Knowlton to learn how to think about and communicate the four basic contours of IP in such an easy and memorable way that you and your team will always be on the same IP page going forward.

Paul Knowlton is an interdisciplinary business consultant and intellectual property/patent attorney at Stanton Law with the lived experience of an adventurous and prosperous career. Prior to law school, Paul’s engineering undergraduate degree equipped him to advance rapidly through his chosen career in positions ranging from construction superintendent to forensic engineer for companies ranging from start-ups to Fortune 100s. In addition to his name being on over 80 client patents, he has founded, managed and sold a profitable business; and, in his roles as Director and Turnaround CEO has directly led two others to greatly improved operations and profitability.

His growth perspective and need for the right platform drew Paul to Stanton Law, where he focuses his work on helping business owners with the real-world and highly personal decisions around strategic planning, culture and growth, and protecting the wealth they have created. With a personal motto embraced from Helen Keller, “Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all,” Paul’s adventurous and entrepreneurial career is no surprise. His personal life rides the same currents. Among other skill sets, Paul was an MSF motorcycle instructor and is an IBA extreme rider, NAUI certified diver, Glock armorer, seminary graduate, and co-author of the Amazon No. 1 new release Better Capitalism. Paul has called Atlanta home since CNN was founded.
