Our Entrepreneurial SIG series this year is Startups that Win: What Makes the Difference? In these sessions we will explore key resources, strategies and tactics that can make a dramatic difference in a startup’s success.
This first session is about crowdfunding, a modern game-changer in the entrepreneurial ecosystem. The speaker for our 1st session is Johnson Jeng, an entreprenuer and startup fanatic who has launched multiple successful crowdfunding campaigns and will detail the pro and cons of crowdfunding your next idea or concept. Having a strong story and product is key to any successful business, and there is no reason why any B2C company shouldn’t test the waters for new products with crowdfunding platforms. Not every product is suitable for crowdfunding and Johnson will explain the mechanics of throwing a well structured campaign. After helping others raise several million $ over the last few years on crowdfunding and running a marketing firm that assists companies in various fields, Johnson knows a thing or two about a successful crowdfunding campaign. Come hear him talk about the successes and failures he’s encountered and the reasons behind them and the value of crowdfunding for a modern business.
Johnson Jeng advises companies on brand marketing and start up acceleration. With 12+ years in senior positions in branding and marketing, he’s currently the Co-Founder of Vanson & Associates, a branding and marketing firm in Silicon Valley and Co-Founder of Klear Bottle, a consumer sports product brand. Johnson has launched dozens of products globally and helped international brands go to market in North America. He’s versed in design, product manufacturing, and brand positioning, and has a passion in making a difference.
