Georgia Entrepreneurs who Moved the Needle
November 1, 2019 @ 7:30 am - 9:30 am
Our first honoree for this series is John Heyman, MBA’89. John is the Chief Executive Officer of Snap AV, an e commerce company serving integrators in the smart home and smart commercial industries. He has worked in the technology industry for over 30 years, including as the CEO of Radiant Systems, Inc., a publicly-traded company until its $1.3 billion sale in 2011. John helped lead Radiant Systems, Inc. from 1995 and during his 17-year tenure, led the company through its early growth phase, a public offering and its evolution into a $400 million enterprise. At the time of its sale, the company was the leading provider of technology solutions to the retail and hospitality industry. John grew the business by entering new vertical markets, enabling the company to reach the small business community through an exceptional group of integrators, expanding globally, launching new products and acquiring complementary companies, including 3 outside the U.S.
As CEO of Snap AV, John has led an industry-transforming merger between Snap AV and Control4 to help integrators profitably bring to life the amazing experience technology can make possible in their homes and businesses.
John attributes his companies’ success in delivering innovation, customer value and shareholder value to assembling remarkable teams of people who focus on delivering exceptional customer satisfaction. Companies he has been involved with have become leaders in delivering innovative, easy to install and support products through best in class integrators while achieving industry leading net promoter scores. John embraces these same philosophies in all of his business pursuits.
John began his career at Arthur Andersen and, before joining Radiant, focused on numerous entrepreneurial endeavors in the private equity industry. John and his wife, Erin, live in Atlanta. He has three sons and enjoys golf, fly fishing, exercise, reading and skiing. He is a graduate of the Harvard Business School and the University of Georgia, where he has served on the Board of Advisors of the Terry College of Business and the Board of Visitors of the University.
The eSIG meets at 7:30 am on Friday mornings and a light buffet breakfast is served. Meetings are held at the offices of Morris, Manning & Martin conveniently located at the Atlanta Financial Center on Peachtree Road in Buckhead. Come join Moderator Steve Kirschner, MBA’86 and don’t forget to sign up early; we limit the attendees at each Friday morning meeting to 50 people.
