Community-Led Budgeting in Atlanta
May 31 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Residents of the Pittsburgh neighborhood are invited to a conversation about what improvements they would like to see in their community and how that can be supported by the City of Atlanta’s budget.
The City’s budget is a powerful tool for driving change in our neighborhoods and community members have the power to shape the way this year’s budget operates. That means if you want to see more affordable housing, better childcare options, healthier and more affordable food options, etc., there are opportunities to have that reflected in the budget.
Come learn how the budget works and how you can be involved in this year’s process and uplift the needs in your community.
Facilitators will include:
- Jasmine Burnett, Director of Organizing for Community Movement Builders
- Alison Johnson, Executive Director of the Housing Justice League
- Ife Finch Floyd, Senior Economic Justice Policy Analyst at Georgia Budget and Policy Institute
This event is organized by #voteATL which is led by the collaborative leadership between Blue in Green Consulting, Community Movement Builders, The Ke’nekt Cooperative, and the Center for Civic Innovation.
