As part of African American Music Month, join TAG societies for a panel discussion as we discuss the impact of black music from history to the technology of creating music and the influence of black music for future generations. This event will feature a video tribute of black artists that passed this year followed by live performances.
Black Music Month was established by President Jimmy Carter in 1979 to “celebrate the African American musical influences that comprise an essential part of our nation’s treasured cultural heritage.” The celebration was renamed African American Music Month in 2009 by President Barack Obama.
